NEW IMAGES FROM STAR WARS AUTHENTICS COMING TRIPLE FORCE FRIDAY

Lucasfilm and Disney have announced that Triple Force Friday, the latest in a tradition of Star Wars product launches, is set for October 4.

The event will see the debut of brand-new products inspired by three of the year’s biggest Star Wars releases, including Star Wars: Episode IX, the final installment of the Skywalker saga, the first-ever Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian, which is set to debut exclusively on the upcoming streaming service, Disney+ and a brand-new action-adventure game releasing holiday 2019 from EA and Respawn, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Star Wars Autograph news recently spoke with Mark Von Ohlen, manager of Topps Star Wars Authentics about the upcoming event and what we can expect to see in the way of images for autographing.

“Marketing kicks in before that.” explained Von Ohlen. “You’ll see a trailer, I’m not sure when, but certainly before October 4th for all these properties. That’s for marketing, PR and social media, but there won’t be any licensed product until October 4th. So that’s when we will be live.”

Von Ohlen explains the process. “There’s always an embargo date. We’ll use The Force Awakens as a good example. The movie came out in December. The Force Friday in September of that year was the moment licensed product could hit the shelves. It was a three month lead time.”

“So you can expect, as a quick turnaround licensee like Star Wars Authentics, we can have photos out October 4th.” said Von Ohlen. “That’s when you’ll be able to see product. Authentics will definitely have photos for anything they give us access to.”

So what images can we expect to see from Star Wars Authentics on October 4th?

“You have to keep in mind the movie has not yet come out.” says Von Ohlen. “We’ll probably only get preview images. I assume I’ll have trailer grabs and nothing else on October 4th. Much like with Solo where we had a 4/20 reveal and a 5/25 day and date with the film and three months later, when the DVD hit, I was able to use many of the final scenes, but not all of them because they’re still spoilers.”
