Can’t make it to Chicago for Celebration this year? Star Wars Authentics is providing ways for you to order autographs from the show from the comfort of your home. Topps Star Wars Authenics manager Mark Von Ohlen recently talked to Star Wars Autograph News about the programs.
“I understand that it’s an expensive trip and tickets sold out pretty quickly, but have no fear anyone who is not able to come to Chicago, were going to have two different options for you.”
The first is a send-in program for personal items you would like signed at the show. These could be posters, flats, action figures, etc. that you can mail to Star Wars Authentics. Instructions for this process will be up on their website very.
“We’ll be using a fulfillment company to track your items. They’ll give you very specific instructions on all the info you need to include, including where you want your item signed, what color ink we’re going to use, and you can start sending that stuff in probably in the next two weeks.”
“I think that will be really helpful especially for anyone who’s got pieces that just need to add a couple of names to it. Especially if you need to add a Michael Pennington or Michael Culver; they don’t really do a lot of American appearances so this is a good way to get them added.”
The second option is pre-ordering 8×10 signed photos from the show.
“If you are a straight 8×10 collector you’ll see going up very soon pre-orders for the announced guests. We’ll probably have about twenty of them going live with pre-orders within the next week or so and you’ll see from there some of the 8×10 selections that will actually be on the table.”
Ohlen goes on to explain the process in more detail.
“So Christopher Sean plays Kaz. We’re going to have like three different 8×10 options to pre-order an autograph from Christopher Sean and it will tell you the price point, what color ink its going to be signed in and we’ll have a fulfillment window post show, I assume two weeks after the show closes, probably Friday, May 3rd is the date items will go out by.”

Place your order and your autographs will be mailed to you. No flights. No hotels. No lines.
The send-in and pre-order is great for those who can’t make it to Chicago, but those attending may wish to use those programs as well. Especially those, like me, who do not like bringing posters to conventions for signatures.
“That’s the tricky thing about posters; bringing them with you and unraveling them at the table, you almost want that done in a bulk signing behind the scenes. It makes it easier for you, so we will have those options available.”
“You can only meet so many people and they might not be there on the same day as you. The Resistance cast is really only going to be there Sunday and Monday and if you have Thursday and Friday tickets you’ll be able to meet Freddie Prinze Jr. and Taylor Gray but you won’t be able to meet any of the new cast of Resistance. That would be a good place to do a send-in or pre-order.”
We wanted to make it as accessible as possible. It’s not lost on me that it’s an expensive trip. Most people will have to fly and you have to get a hotel room, and tickets sold out for most days very quickly.
For those who can’t make it to the show for any reason we’ll still have autographs going up on the site, probably as low as $50. There are $40 signers attending Celebration and I think all of them will be at the $50 SRP going up on the site, so you’ll have a nice variety of what I call mid-tiered price people.
Currently, if you visit Star Wars Authentics, we’ve got you covered with your $1,000 Harrison Fords and Daisy Ridleys and Adam Drivers but there aren’t as many mid-tiered people but we will be adding quite a number of them through this pre-order.
