Lucasfilm has announced it’s first autographing guest for Star Wars Celebration Chicago. Industrial Light & Magic’s Rob Bredow will be attending the show, which happens April 11-15, for panels and to sign his upcoming book, Industrial Light & Magic Presents: Making Solo: A Star Wars Story. Bredow is the SVP, executive creative director, and head of Industrial Light & Magic, the company’s overall creative strategy and global operations.
There was no one in a better position to chronicle this peak behind the curtain look into the making of the film than Bredow. “As Co-producer and Visual Effects Supervisor on Solo: A Star Wars Story, he had a front row seat in the film’s development, both on set and behind the scenes at ILM.” says Lucasfilm. “The book will feature a chronological overview of the film’s production and visual effects artistry, reported from the position of someone intimately involved with the film every step of the way.”
Abrams Star Wars books have become popular autographing projects for collectors. Industrial Light & Magic Presents: Making Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will be released by Abrams on April 16th, features over 250 pages and 300 color illustrations. It has a retail price of $50 and can be pre-ordered HERE. Fans attending Celebration will have the rare opportunity to purchase this book at the show (and get it signed) before it’s official release date.
Here is the official Abrams Books synopsis of Industrial Light & Magic Presents: Making Solo: A Star Wars Story.
“Industrial Light & Magic Presents: Making Solo: A Star Wars Story is an eyewitness account of the film’s production from visual effects supervisor and coproducer Rob Bredow. The book gives readers an intimate glimpse into the journey that Solo took from pre-production, production, and post-production, fully documenting how this film came to the big screen.
Making Solo gives a chronological overview of how this multiple-Academy-Award-winning visual effects company created new worlds, aliens, droids, and vehicles for a galaxy far, far away, including insights into how the train heist on Vandor, L3-37, the Kessel Run, and the reimagined Millennium Falcon were brought to life. A must-have for Star Wars fans, this authorized, all-access book will be an indispensable work for all movie fans and devotees of popular culture.”
