Timothy Zahn has been signing autographs for over forty years and the creator of Thrawn had made it a policy to do so at no charge to fans.
The author announced his new autograph policy on his official Facebook page, citing age (he turned 70 in September) and a significant increase in requests for non-book autographs.

He has set the following price structure for his autograph, both at conventions and for items sent through-the-mail. These prices are now in effect.
Books, magazines, bookplates: No charge
Non-book items (comics, figurines, artwork, prints, etc.): $10 per item
Authenticated/professionally witnessed signatures: $20 per item
Timothy Zahn’s next convention appearance is scheduled for Albuquerque Comic Con happening January 14-16.
