STAR WARS AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION TO COVER REBELS PRESS CONFERENCE AT CELEBRATION

Some time after receiving confirmation that I had been approved to cover Star Wars Celebration as press I receiveed an email from Disney detailing the Star Wars Rebels press conference which stated we would need to go through an additional application process to receive credentials to cover it.  I am pleased to report that today I received confirmation of my approval to cover the press conference.  Here's a run down of the guests who will be participating in the event.

The press conference will be happening after the Star Wars Rebels panel called: "New Allies and New Villains in Star Wars Rebels Season 2."  Here's what we can expect from the panel.

Sat. April 18| 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Celebration Stage

Get a sneak peek at what's to come in the second season of the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels, which picks up right where the shocking season one finale left off! Members of the cast and crew, including Dave Filoni (Executive Producer, Supervising Director), Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Kanan), Vanessa Marshall (Hera), Tiya Sircar (Sabine), Steve Blum (Zeb), Taylor Gray (Ezra) and other special guests will discuss the startling story developments revealed at the end of season one and offer some can't-miss exclusive previews of what's to come in season two!

Saturday also features the World Premiere of the two-part first episode of Season Two of Star Wars Rebels. 

"Star Wars Rebels Red Carpet & Season Two Global Premiere Screening"

Sat. April 18| 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM | Digital Stage

Don’t miss your favorite stars on the carpet from and witness the global premiere of Star Wars Rebels season two, which launches a whole new set of adventures for the Ghost crew and hints at the challenges to come under the shadow of their new adversary, Darth Vader. Attendees will be the first to see the two-part second season premiere following an encore screening of the thrilling season one finale.

That's not the extent of the Rebels content scheduled for Celebration.  Star Wars Rebels cast members will be signing autographs on a very limited schedule.

Keith Kellogg: Animation with Attitude

Thu. April 16| 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Star Wars University – 206AB

Keith Kellogg, Animation Supervisor on Star Wars Rebels, will demonstrate how a simple animation walk cycle can generate personality in our Rebels characters. Learn how the smallest changes from a basic cycle can immediately change your perception of who a character is. Your character can go from angry to sad, or proud, to nervous just based on their posture.

Rebels Design Class with Kilian Plunkett, Amy Beth Christenson & Chris Glenn

Fri. April 17| 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Star Wars University – 206AB

Plunkett, Christenson and Glenn Art Directors and Designers at Lucasfilm Animation, and currently working on Star Wars Rebels, will teach this Master Class that covers their own stories and how they ended up at Lucasfilm. They will share their design process, and how they developed the look of Rebels.

Joel Aron Photography: The Look of Star Wars Rebels

Fri. April 17| 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM | Star Wars University – 206AB

Joel Aron, the CG Lighting & FX Supervisor at Lucasfilm, will take you through a step–by–step breakdown of how to use a still frame image from storyboard through the Lighting Concept phase to final image, and then post–process color grade. He will discuss the basics of framing and composition for not only placement in frame of the characters and the background, but for the lighting composition as well. This is one of the strongest parts of telling a cinematic story, and one of the most important elements of the look of Star Wars Rebels. Aron will cover: lighting composition, light shapes of contrast, the cinematic aspect ratio, what lens to use, color tone for feeling, the softness of light, film and digital, Star Wars high contrast lighting, and final color grade.

Composing Star Wars Music With Kevin Kiner

Sat. April 18| 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Digital Stage

Composer Kevin Kiner is an integral part of the Star Wars story, composing the music scores for Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Listen as Kiner, who has worked closely with George Lucas, explains his process for composing Star Wars music with footage from Rebels, playing with cues from his scores. He’ll also discuss his interpretation of how Star Wars composer John Williams writes music, and how that has inspired his work on the animated shows.

Ideas Become Reality: Star Wars Production Class

What does it mean to be a “producer,” and what does it mean to produce for Lucasfilm? Athena Portillo, Line Producer for Star Wars Rebels and Liz Marshall, Production Manager for Star Wars Rebels, will dive in to the specific roles of production staff, cover skills and traits needed to do the job, and give tips and insider tricks how to deal with the challenges and the ever–changing landscape

Novelizing Star Wars

Sun. April 19| 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Behind–The–Scenes Stage

Authors James Kahn (Return of the Jedi novelizations) and Michael Kogge (Star Wars Rebels novelizations), Star Wars Insider editor Jonathan Wilkins, and Del Rey editor Shelly Shapiro on the process of adapting Star Wars films into prose. They will discuss the creative process of adaptation, the ways in which novelizations can enrich and expand upon screen stories, and how an author’s individual voice is essential in creating a novel that stands on its own.
