Rich Sands annoucned in his exclusive for TV Insider that Princess Leia will be appearing in Star Wars Rebels when it returns to Disney XD on January 20th.  Leia will make her first Rebel appearance in the season two premiere episode "A Princess on Lothal."  This is reportedly the only time Princess Leia will appear in the second season of the series.

Executive producer Dave Filoni gave TV Insider some background to Leia's introduction to the show. “We thought we had an opportunity to show her learning to be a leader, experimenting with the personality that becomes the stronger more resolute character you see in A New Hope,” Filoni tells Sands. “One of the complex challenges of depicting Leia in Rebels is that we have to remind the audience that at this point she is part of the Empire. She doesn’t believe in the Empire, but she is acting the part, almost a double agent.”

The voice of Princess Leia will be provided by actress Julie Dolan, who also provides her voice in the game Star Wars: Uprising. Dolan has appeared in flims such as Beverly Hills Cop 3 and BASEketball and hit television series Gilmore Girls, Dexter and Without a Trace.  She also regularly appearns on the TBS late night show Conan.
